A few finishes...

...are off to the post office

so I'm feeling pretty happy.
I've just joined a new swap, a Little French Swap, over at Cheryl's delightful blog Willowberry Designs.
She is very kindly sharing a new project with us each month.
FABULOUS FREE STUFF
Like so many people at the moment, I'm in love with bakers twine.  In fact I do have a thing about all string and have quite a nice collection.

Above is just a little part of it.  I keep my collection on an old dresser which I have under our pergola.

Clever Vanessa at Thrifty Nifty Things has a great tutorial on making a version from embroidery floss.

and

I just had to share this one with you because it is irresistible.
There's a tutorial over at Design Sponge.  Thanks so much Grace and Marny and Clare.

  2. What lovely freebies you've found today, Melody :)

I really love your Buttons/balloons stitchery - was there a pattern? Or if it is your own clever design, do you mind if I 'borrow' it? I found so many yummy buttons in my clean up yesterday - this would be a great way to use some :)

  3. I was thinking the same way as Kathy, Melody. I recently got all of my Grandma's old buttons and this would be a great way to showcase them. My mind is already churning with a quilt idea. :) Thanks for inspiring us. xo

  7. Your 3 gifts are quite different from each other and that shows how much thought you put into making special gifts for each person. I'm in love with your balloon girl, she's off on adventures far and wide. The the folky bird bag you shared is awesome too! You really find some wonderful special pages in blog land.
