Feel Like a Stitch-A-Long

A new year, hooray! Lets hope 2013 is wonderful for everyone.

Here's January's White Rabbits logo for those of you who find making a list keeps you on track.

A STITCH-A-LONG
for fans of using wool fabrics and wool felt

All you need is to purchase this amazing e-pattern called Summertime by Erica Kaprow for $10 from Pattern Spot, collect your wool fabrics (or of course you can use cottons) stitch-a-long and share pictures of your quilt as it grows.  (I'll set up a flickr stream.) Of course you can just stitch some of the blocks if you wish - the designs would look fabulous as mini quilts, on bags, table-runners etc.

Let me know if you are going to play along and I will list you on my sidebar so everyone can take a look at your progress.  I've got three wool fabric packs to help get you started.  Just be one of the first three to sign up and I'll post you a pack.

Time to share some pictures of some of the wonderful gifts I received for Christmas from my lovely bloggy friends.  Jude was my partner in Fee's Advent swap.  I received 24 wonderful small gifts and this gorgeous table runner as my 25th Christmas Day present.  It is just perfect.  Thank you so much Jude.
Wonderful RachaelDaisy of Blue Mountain Daisy made me the most amazing calendar.  Each month I'll share a page.  Here's January.  Rachael is so clever and creative and my calendar will take pride of place in my sewing room this year.

The two lovely hexies from my December swap partner in the Inchy Hexie Flower Swap were accompanied by one of the most delightful gifts I've ever received.  A teeny hand turned salt bowl and lid were included, and were made by Marie's husband. Plus the smallest little scoop ever. I always use Maldon Sea Salt so a proper salt dish is a pure delight.
Enormous thanks to Marie and her lovely husband.

I'm so glad I discovered One Sheepish Girl.  It is a fabulous blog full of wonderful ideas and tutorials. I love this one.
It's a sweater makeover.  So very clever.  Here's the LINK to the fabulous tutorial.  Thank you so much Meredith.

  7. The patten is gorgeous! I love the little bird on the watermelon! I think I may just lurk around and watch! ( I have too many hand sewing projects and less and less time!) I love Rachael's calendar! Are the icecreams made from fabric or is it printed?

  16. Happy New Year Melody! Wow that is a lovely quilt especially in wool. After last year I am so behind in my SKOW SAL & many other projects so am trying to be very brave & not sign up for much this year. I'm itching to try a wool project after getting my kitty puncushion but I think I will start with something small like that. My to do list for January already includes 10 items! I will certainly be taking note though of everyones progress. Tracee xxx

  17. Oh! Please count me in the Summertime Stitch Along! I'm so excited as I am almost done with her only other pattern fold art quilt I mentioned to you before. I was just going to email you and ask you about some of these other stitch alongs...like the Friday night one(s)? Do you Skype or just think about each other while you're stitching? LOL! I live alone and it would be oh so nice to have a get together with others via Skype or something at a pre-determined time each week or month....Oprah does it all the time....we should be able to! Ha! Ha! I'll go take a peek at your Friday night ones...I'd like to join. When does the Summertime one start, officially as I need to order pattern and may have to order some more wool...my stash has depleted since moving to the South...they don't wear much wool here! Duh! I'll be back North next year though..hopefully! Take care..I'm so excited about these stitching groups! What a motivator too! Thank you!

  19. I just fell in love with the Summertime pattern when you first put it up. I love the subject of each block and will do them all. Whether I will make them into a quilt I am not sure yet. I am not much of a hand stitcher so I will be doing it the valspierssews way :D
I would still love to be part of your QAL group.
