Today we are so spoiled with dozens of fabulous magazines available in the newsagents, but 20 years ago this magazine was such a treasure.
Do you have something you treasure to share with us today? Just pop your details into Mr Linky and play along.
PS One of my very favourite bloggers, sweet Shell at Raspberry Rabbits is offering a free BOM starting in January 2012.
Something to look forward to.
The photo of your bedroom with all the samplers on the wall has always been one of my favourites. I love the look you have created!
ReplyDeleteHi Melody - I believe I may have this magazine too..but I don't think I made anything from it! Your sampler is lovely. (Hoping to come back later with a TT but neeed to do some 'research' first :-)
ReplyDeleteMelody , I love the Country Craft magazines ,always something wonderful to make in them. I also love your sampler wall , wow it is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Melody - your sampler is lovely, and what a great idea to have 'sampler wall'. It must be a wonderful record of favourite things, colours and memories :)
ReplyDeleteLovely stitchery and pretty bedroom Mel,i love my mags,i cant imagine only 1 being available as we have an endless choice now, lol.
ReplyDeleteYour sampler is just beautiful as is your gorgeous bedroom wall. I have that copy also and I agree it was so exciting when it began. I used to love to look at all the wonderful country decorated rooms and I am sure is partly responsible for my 'clutterbug' habits.
ReplyDeleteYour sampler wall is gorgeous Melody. So many hours of stitching fun represented there. Tracee xx
ReplyDeleteHi Mel, I remember how excited I was when I found the first issue of Country craft magazine also, it was in a sevice station -mixed business in the small town of Wandong Victoria, I have not been able to part with it either. I love your sampler and your decor. Love R.
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny you that your post is on old magazines. I just ordered 6 old issues of Country Marketplace. I guess I'm just missing the feeling that all these magazines gave which was handmade, heartfelt and cozy. Your sampler hanging on your wall is a true testimate to that feeling.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention of my BOM! I'm so excited I'm about to burst!!! hee, hee, hee.
Hi again - I'm back - I have just linked in my Tuesday Treasure :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Melody. Your sampler is lovely. That picture of your bedroom is just like the ones you see in Australian Country Craft! It's gorgeous. Hugs, Christine
ReplyDeleteI have a pile of those magazines with lots of plans for projects which never eventuated. I don't think I have the first one though. Lovely sampler.
ReplyDeleteI'm back with my little treasures.
ReplyDeleteLove your stitchery.
Your wall is fantastic, it's your own personal art gallery. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Melody! I have the very first issue as well! I remember how excited I was to find it, as previously I was getting subscriptions to Quilt, Quilters Newsletter and a couple of other Magazines from the U.S. It would have been 1990/1991, as I had just left work. I nearly drove the newsagent batty waiting for the next issue.- And guess what is on my bedroom wall? the very same sampler, mine doesn't have the coloured board around it, but it is also in a dark timber frame. :)
ReplyDeleteI have a few years worth of this magazine. Still look through them today. The homes in them were beautiful, just like your cross stitch wall.
ReplyDeletehappy days.
Bev.xoxo
Beautiful cross-stitches Melody. Isn't it fun to look at old magazines and see how much styles and fabrics have changed. We had a challenge for our Wednesday stitching group this year to make a project from an old magazine. It was so much fun that we are doing it again, so I am collecting old magazines to distribute at Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteYour sampler wall is so lovely. What treasures. Trish
