Today I decided to share one of my favourite things - my iPod.
I use it mainly to listen to podcasts and audiobooks. I've got a couple of iPod docks around the house and even one in the garden, so I don't always have the earphones in but the iPod is on for many hours nearly everyday. So if I'm cleaning, ironing, gardening, driving or sewing someone is reading me a story. I'm currently listening my way through the Val McDermid/Tony Hill books. Gruesome but the stories really get you in.
I am a member at Audible and its service is wonderful.
Some of my favourite podcasts are Father Bob and John Safron on Triple J, Conversations with Richard Fidler, The New York Times Book Review and the very best of all - Mark Kermode and Simon Mayo on Radio 4 discussing movies. It always makes me laugh out loud, especially if Mark doesn't like the movie. Just Google Kermodian rants, if you'd like the experience.
Tuesday Treasures gives you the chance to share something that is important to you. It can be a thing, a person, a place, an idea, in fact anything you would like to share. Just put your details into Mr Linky and play along.
Don't forget next week is a special Tuesday Treasures where you can share your pets. There will be a giveaway and it should be lots of fun looking at the furry, feathery, scaly friends who live with you.
Melody
PS I have been doing lots of sewing but it's all for swaps so it will have to remain a secret until later in the year.
How amazing! I was thinking of doing a Tuesday treasure on how I love music..especially on my iPod! Thanks for the info about the movie reviewers- I'm going to check it out!
ReplyDeleteI don't have an iPod, but I have an iPhone and I love that! It makes my life so much easier
ReplyDeleteI have an ipod that was given to me by my son, for travelling around in the car. It was great back when I was doing lots of miles, but I have to admit, it doesn't get used much these days. I sometimes use it when I am sewing, but that's about it. Maybe I should invest in some more docking stations. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Tony Hill books and I love Robson Greene's portrayl of him too. I listen to my trusty radio as I haven't mastered the Ipod yet.
ReplyDeleteI am glad it gives you so much pleasure no matter where you are.
Thanks for sharing.
I love my ipod too but so far mostly listen to music. I've been wanting to try some books so I'll definitely check out the website you posted about! Thanks for the heads up!
ReplyDeleteHello Melody,
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful to hear that you make great use of your i-pod. Good luck with all the secret sewing.
happy days.

I'm a audio book convert thanks to you Mel. I would not have otherwise discovered my absolute fav book of all time....Water for Elepahants.
ReplyDeleteI don't have an iPod but recently acquired an iPad. I am still getting acquainted with its functions. Who knows, an iPod may be next!
ReplyDeleteHi Mel, Thought I'd pop in! *grin* IPod?? They seem very popular. I only use mine if I go for a walk outside. I love audio books though. I'll look up that link. Podcasts are fairly new to me, too. Oh, another wonderful techno thing to be fasinated by! Thanks, Mel. Have a wonderful day. Sandy
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing about your iPod and what you listen to. I have an iPhone which was full of music (I love music) but since it has been replaced it has none on it. I really should get some on there again.
ReplyDeleteThanks again and have a wonderful day :-)
I love my Ipod too Melody... One of the best things my son has given me. xx
ReplyDeleteGreat use of technology..... sorry I missed today Melody.... sort of got caught up on time... or lack of it.....

I like audio books too but find they put me to sleep and I miss whole sections of the story!
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan of Val McDermid and Toby Hill for many years. Can't do too many in a row as I find them a bit gruesome but can't put them down either!! I haven't used my iPod for many books, but do enjoy listening to books.
ReplyDeleteThe lake does look magical. Love the blues you selected.
Take care.
