How could I have missed this? And farewell to Christine Book

A bee themed quilt-a-long, with hexagon shapes featured prominently, how could I have missed this? Especially as it is shared at the fabulous Moda Bakeshop, one of my very favourite spots online.

Huge thanks to Pamela from Sweet Little Stitches...such a delightful project.
I'm feel very sad reading of the passing of lovely Christine Book. She was the person who inspired me to try the stitching I now enjoy so much...my first project back in the 80's was her Welcome Friends cushion.
I read the news through Scquilters. Here's what was written
Message from Kaye Brown.
It was with great sadness this morning of learning of the passing of Christine Book- Christine has been a vibrant member of the quilting industry over the years her love of embroidery and quilting was well known in our area as well as supporting our guild - her husband Martin the last few years has put up the lights for our exhibition the members of Camden Country Quilters send their Sincere Sympathy to Martin and family - A special memory of Christine after our quilt show when few were left and Martin had pulled down the lights Christine would always say "Christine Book has left the building" She will be sadly missed by all her family and sewing friends.

My sincere condolences to her family and friends. She will always hold a special spot in my heart and in my stitching endeavours.

Hope you have a peaceful day
Love

  7. Thank you for sharing the news of Christine Books passing. I will never forget attending her workshop in Sydney, my first chance to escape the house for a few hours after the birth of my first child. She was a lovely lady and had a great sense of fun.
