The Plain Needlewoman

Firstly I would like to send an enormous thank you to each and every wonderful blogworld friend who left me a comment here or who left me a Facebook 'like' or sent me an email or held me in your thoughts while I was so sick.  The treatment and kindness I received from the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne was absolutely outstanding. I'm still not 100% well and will go back into hospital next week for more tests so I just need to take my recovery from heart failure slowly. As a result I may not be gadding about as much as usual but I will try to keep my posts informative and fun so hopefully you will call back regularly
It may have been a bit silly to go out, but I could not resist a day at June of Lilly Patches wonderful Relax and Stitch day on Saturday.  I really wanted to meet Janette McInness, as I follow both her blog, The Plain Needlewoman, and I am her Facebook friend.  I admire her very much, with her love of quilting and animals and her stance on social issues many of which are dear to my heart.
I haven't seen many antique and vintage quilts so the trunk show presented by Jeanette was thrilling.  She shared everything she knew about the provenance of the quilts and also what restoration and preservation steps she had taken. Absolutely fascinating...and outstandingly beautiful quilts.
It was also fantastic fun to catch up with friends especially my wonderful friend Lorraine.
Some of the ladies took along high tea, which was fabulous.

Fabulous fun.

This wonderful project is shared in a fabulously detailed tutorial over at My Quilt Infatuation.  enormous thanks to super generous Kelly for sharing it with us.  Please follow this LINK to her April 22, 2016 post, so you can make one too.
Hope your day is filled with happiness
Love
