About eight months ago I had some hypnotherapy to help me deal with my MS pain issues...and it was a huge success. I went from regularly taking Oxycondone to just an occasional aspirin. I can now breathe through most pain and control it with my mind - a miracle really.
After my first hypnosis session, as I was walking back to the car, the following words popped into my head
I am strong
I am powerful
I can do anything.
I hadn't been able to walk up my forty or so steps for about five years, without taking a break or two. Now I stand at the bottom of those steps and say those words aloud. Then I charge straight up without stopping (OK, slowly I admit, but my version of charging). Just mentioning this because those words have really helped me get through all the recent difficulties and maybe saying them with conviction could help you too. If you want you could change the last line to I can do anything with the help of the Lord.
I thought this project would make a brilliant gift. So useful for taking to a stitching day or on retreat.
It is very kindly shared at Love to Sew. Just follow the link on this page.
Have a wonderful day

Mel, you are soooooo right. Affirmations are so very powerful. After my labour of 3 days with my 2nd child I decided I could do anything. As a carer and having Fibromyalgia for the past 22 years or so I have learned to pace myself as I am sure you do too. It doesn't always work but sometimes I think we forget that we are human and can allow ourselves to waver occasionally. Thanks so much for instilling the importance of being positive. I also think that having a sense of humour is vital for survival hehehehe. Angel hugs my lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat is so wonderful Mel. You are such an inspiration to us all! Thank you for sharing.... big hugs xxx
