Mine is going to be an inside flag for my sewing room and I wanted it to be inspirational with a vintage theme.
So first I found a really really cute free vintage image at Doe-c-Doe. You can find this sweet little elephant HERE on the Flickr Stream
Then I added some motivational words.
I cut my stitchery into an oval shape and attached it to some gorgeous Tilda fabric. (With my trusty $2 glue stick - just check it says suitable for fabric on the label. I find it just as good as any expensive quilt shop glue)
Then I attached it to some felted woollen blanket. (Again with the glue stick)
and I stitched buttons around the oval.
I added a ric-rac border attaching it with colonial knots (french knots would be just as good). I made sure you could still see some of the wool blanketing around the edge.
I plan to string a line across my sewing room and this will be the first in a series of happy flags with a positive messages.
This blog hop was very kindly sponsored by Flags on a Stick. Huge thanks to them and to Madam Samm and to Thearica and to all the flag makers and to everyone who hopped around to take a look at all the flags on the Flags on a Stick blog hop.
I've got another two gorgeous Ric Rac patterns to giveaway. If the winner is a follower I'll pop in a third pattern too.
Just leave me a happy comment regarding the blog hop and you will be in the draw. Don't forget to let me know if you are a follower. I'll announce the winner next Wednesday.
Have a wonderful day
