Yesterday's sewing

I really liked yesterday's Fabulous Free Link so I made one of Jona's aprons and, yes, it only took about an hour.

If you are planning next month's stitching, here is the September White Rabbits logo.

Altered Artifacts is the most brilliant place.  I am so in love with these thread organisers and they are a fabulous free download HERE.  Huge thanks.
PS There is a great shabby chic version too.

I've been shopping...

...at Under the Mulberry Tree and I am very happy with my purchases in particular the hexagon templates which are just the right size for Rosalie Quinlan's Best Friends project and were only $10 for the set of two.
Fabulous value and they make fussy cutting my inner hexies so much easier.

I also bought four more fat quarters to add to my Tilda stash and some of my favourite needles.

Postage was really reasonable and my parcel arrived in only two days so I am super happy with the whole transaction.  Big thanks to Erica for such great service.
An apron in an hour shared by fabulous Jona at Stop Staring and Start Sewing.  There is a great tutorial too.  Many, many thanks Jona - I love it.

Celebrate

Mrs Martin's Celebrations Swap is underway and this month she asked us to send our partners a spring themed stitchery that they could turn into anything they want.  So this is what I sent to lovely Gayle.

Spring is definitely on its way here so what could be better than a bunch of fabric flowers.  Pop over to A Pumpkin and a Princess for a wonderful tutorial.  Just click HERE.

Another baby wrap...

...destined for PNG.  You can read about it's destination HERE at Gina's lovely blog.

I just need to catch up with my dear friend Sue who is going to give me the backing to finish this wrap and then I can add it to my pile.

These are adorable.  And we are very lucky that Lia Griffith very kindly shares both the pattern and a brilliant tutorial at her blog, Handcraft Your Life.  Here is the LINK. Enormous thanks to Lia.

The postie came to visit

and this is what he bought to me.
A gorgeous bag, made by lovely Gayle (no blog)  The extra wonderful thing about this bag is how widely it opens up - just perfect for carrying lots and lots of sewing goodies.
Thank you so much Gayle.  I love it.
Fun and really practical, this Bed Caddy is a great idea. You can get the pattern and see the tutorial if you follow this LINK to Sew4Home.  Thank you so much.

Best Friends Forever

I am, oh so slowly and in between my swap commitments, sewing Rosalie Quinlan's Best Friends Forever BOM.
I'm planning on using my Tilda stash for this project.
This little sweetie is one of my very best friends - dear little Bella aka Belly Button, Belly B Baby, Buttons.  She is always by my side.  Because Matilda and Pippi have such big personalities I don't often mention Belly but she is a little darling.
Who else but A Spoonful of Sugar.  Lisa and Sarah shared this lovely little bag HERE.  And there is a fabulous tutorial too.  Many many thanks.

Oh dear

I've not been sleeping well lately and so I've been very tired.

Well I'm not tired anymore as I just slept in till midday.  I slept through my 7.00am alarm.  I slept through John getting up and going to work.  I slept through the dogs playing and scampering around.  I slept through the cockatoos screaming outside the bed room window calling for bird seed.  I slept through Jack calling out 'Good morning mum'.  I slept through the postie arriving with a parcel.

And that's why today's post is really really late and really really short.

I've got the cross stitch bug again, so I've been exploring some cross stitch blogs and happily I found Pinta and this dear little house.  Here's the LINK. Many many thanks.

For your car

The other day John and I were on the way back from a trip to the 'duck pond' park with our little dogs, when I spotted a lady lying on the footpath with her dog sitting next to her.  Naturally we stopped to see if she was OK and what we could do to help and it was then that I realised I had no first aid kit in my car. For years I carried one in the boot but when my car was flooded the first aid kit was ruined.

Don't worry - the lady was OK but she had cut her hand when she tripped over her dog.

I got a new car but never did get around to getting a new first aid kit.

Then yesterday I found this fabulous tutorial so it's on my Must Do list now.
Huge thanks to Amy at Positively Splendid for both the pattern and the fabulous tutorial HERE

So sweet...

...I couldn't resist stitching it.

I found this image a few years ago and saved a copy planning to stitch it one day.  I think it was originally a stamp, but unfortunately I failed to record where it came from.

I am so glad I found Erynne's wonderful blog, Stitcheree.  It is a wonderful read and she shares some gorgeous designs like this one HERE.  Huge thanks to Erynne.
PS A huge thank you to Cathy and SnoozeM for letting me know this is a Penny Black design.  You can check out the website HERE.  Wow, I am so impressed. Think I might have to buy myself some stamps.
