That penny rug

The penny rug, which caused me so much anxiety, is still progressing.  Yesterday I 'bagged it', using some fabulous spotty dotty flannel on the back and worked on some pennies for the edge.  I think I'll need to make about 40... so 37 to go.

I love Cheryll's swaps so I've signed up for this one.

You can find out more HERE.

Don't forget tonight's the night to stitch along with Cheryll too.
We are having a heatwave here in Melbourne and I do not like the heat so I'll be inside in the air conditioning sewing and reading for the next few days.  Fingers crossed that I can keep up my penny rug momentum.  I'll be making pennies tonight as I stitch along with bloggy friends.
This gorgeous group of goodies were my present from Jeanette as part of the Lets Stitch Together Christmas swap.
Each and every one is delightful.  Thank you so much Jeanette.

I've just discovered Reusable Art.  Here's how it describes itself
A collection of free downloadable public domain images for crafters and web designers that have been rescued from old books, magazines, and other print materials. All of the images in this collection are copyright free in the United States and any country that extends copyrights up to 70 years after the death of the original artist making them in the public domain and free to use in your next scrapbook page, notecard or other craft projects.
And it is brilliant.  Here's the LINK to the delightful image above.
PS Would Kristen who is joining in the Summertime Stitch-a-Long please email me. I'd like to send you a little pack of wool fabric to say thank you for joining in.

  12. Love it! Did you design that yourself? I want to do some designing this year if I can and of course make projects and then kits and then sell them and then write a book and go on a book tour....oh, am I getting ahead of myself? LOL! I've worked with wool for years but would you believe, I have yet to make a penny rug! I'll put that one on the list as I adore yours! TTYL!
