One of the things I love about this swap is it encourages you to use colours that you don't usually use. This block made me realise that I have virtually no orange in my stash and I had to go out and buy some yesterday.
Just need to make some scissor tags this morning and these will be on their way

so good to have you back my friend,i dont normally go for orange but that orange and blue block is gorgeous, take care Mel.xx
ReplyDeleteIt's rather daring to use something new isn't it!? I am doing just that at the moment, and after being a bit daunted at first I am slowly enjoying it. I'm not 'elegant' in design, but it's fun wearing that hat for a few days.
ReplyDeleteLove those monograms!

I've just got some scraps from Art Gallery Fabrics and they were purple and lime green, way out of my comfort zone, I have made a small picnic quilt/table cloth and I absolutely love it. I would never have bought purple, but now I probably will. I don't have orange either....maybe I should get some! I have used those monograms on birthday cards, I used the first design. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteHello Melody,
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are feeling better. Orange is one of those "bright" colours. Your block is lovely. Hope you got some new fabric.
Happy days.

Lovely blocks....you know I'm that way about colors....I tend to choose the ones I like best but that doesn't always make a beautiful quilt.
