One Flower Wednesday...

... but first February 29th is a special day in our family, it's my dad's birthday.  Since he only gets an actual birthday every four years it's always special, but this year it's extra special as he turns eighty today.
So happy birthday to my dear dad.
Here's a picture of the two of us, many years ago when I was 17
This week's hexie flowers are to become little coasters for one of my friends, Anne.  I just need to make one more and then sew on the felt backing

If you would like to see more hexie flowers pop over to visit lovely Karen at Journey of a Quilter where she kindly organises One Flower Wednesday each week.
FABULOUS FREE STUFF
How gorgeous is this Hexie Caddy?
So very very clever.  Visit Penny at Penny's Hands where she shares a great tutorial.
PS Yesterday's links to your wonderful pets are fabulous.  I'm sorry I've taken such a long time to leave you comments but our electricity metre box decided to smoulder and arc (I suspect the evil Smart Metre was at fault)  so we have had no electricity and thus no computer.  It's now been completely replaced and we are almost $1000 poorer, but at least I'm back on line.
