but I am having lots of fun playing with the look of my blog. You will probably see it change and change again over the next couple of weeks. I've gone to a 2 column template because it will make the main part of the blog easier for people to read who have smaller monitors or use an Ipad.
It's probably going to be a bit confusing as things jump around. I know one person who uses my blog to find their way to other peoples' blogs (hi Rosalie). If you do this too, don't worry all the links are still there. For example there are 42 fabulous bloggers who have shared their Tuesday Treasures and are listed on my sidebar. The first ten (those who have blogged most recently) show on the side-bar. Just click on the little Show All tag, at the bottom of the list, and the other 32 will appear. The same thing applies to all the other lists of my favourite blogs.
By the way, If you have shared pictures of your Tuesday Treasures or played along by adding a link to Teddy Bears Picnic and your blog is not listed on my side-bar please let me know. I try to list everyone who has played but I know I've missed a few of you.
I've moved my Fabulous Followers to the bottom of my blog. You are not down the bottom because you are not important, You are there because I love being able to see more little pictures of more of you. I am grateful to every single person who has become a follower and have a few extra surprises in mind just for you, both existing followers and new people who join the list.
Finally to the little tabs up the top just underneath the blog title. As my blog was getting very cluttered I've decided to move some things from the side-bar to their own little pages. This will give me a chance to give lots more detail. For example for the doggy lovers I will share the stories of all my lovely little dogs in detail and include some more photos.
These pages are still very much in their infancy but they will grow and I've plans to add some others such as a whole bunch of tutorials for projects I've designed just for my blog, a list of Quilt Shows and other events I think you might be interested in and a list of great shops and places to go if you are a visitor to Melbourne or even a local who loves quirky little places just like me.
I've got lots of ideas for projects and competitions and even a traveling tea-cozy sew-a-long. Next year there will even be a free BOM, not for a quilt but for a large penny rug style table runner, so start collecting some wool and felt for this project.
I promise I won't bore you with long pieces of text like this very often, but I needed to tell you about the changes and some of my plans. I'll be back later today with some sewing I've done.
Don't forget its a double goody week this week. Please come back and play Tuesday Treasures
tomorrow
and Teddy Bears' Picnic on Thursday.
Your new look blog is WONDERFUL Melody. I love it. I might have to copy the way you've done your OPAM finishes etc. I didn't think of putting them on their own page! toni xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat post Melody... You have certainly grabbed my attention with the penny rug table runner for next year and the tea cozy sew along. Your blog looks great, and it is very easy to read. Hopefully I'm back on board now and can blog a bit more than I have been lately xx
ReplyDeleteYour new header looks lovely Melody. I also know someone who used my blog list to get around! lol
ReplyDeleteI like your blog a lot. I also like making changes to my blog. I remember reading a comment one time that the reader thought blogs should have a 'signature look' and shouldn't change. THey're probably not following me, because I like change. Have fun, and make it what YOU want it to be!
