Cote Provence

On Saturday afternoon John and I headed into Rathdowne Street in North Carlton for some afternoon tea. This gave me the opportunity to take some photos and share with you one of my very favourite stores in Melbourne.  At number 290 you will find Cote Provence.
All most everything in this shop comes from France and there are many, many vintage items ranging in age from the 1850's to the 1960's.
This is the current window display and this gives you the feel of the store.  Many of the items are out of my price range but plenty aren't.  There are always fabulous balls of string, for a few dollars each.
I know this sounds very weird but I collect interesting balls of string.  I know I'm not the only one because my gorgeous friends Andrea and Rachelle collect them too.
The old linens are amazing. You need to venture up the stairs to view most of the collection.
There is a lot of natural linen and red which looks brilliant.
Out the back is a small courtyard with lots of amazing items for the garden including these wonderful little French terracotta pots.

I discovered a new children's wear shop a few doors up.  It was closed but I managed to snap a couple of pictures of items I just loved.
This adorable dog made from vintage blankets
and this beautiful appliqued cot blanket again made from patches of vintage blankets.  The idea is enough to have me running down to the Op Shop today.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend too and I'll be back tomorrow for Tuesday Treasures.
