I've finished my Snowbound quilt.
This sweet pattern was last years free BOM from lovely Anne Sutton at Bunny Hill. The original design was a larger quilt but I wanted to keep it relatively small as I had only a smallish spot where I wanted to hang it. I added a wider sashing at the bottom and asked my fabulous long arm quilter, Leanne, to quilt some trees in this space. I then made a few little felt figures to decorate the bottom.
I added safety pins to the felt figures so my grandchildren can move them around for a bit of fun. I'm not sure what else I want to add but I might make a Christmas tree and some little presents.

ReplyDeleteOh Melody... You are such an inspiration...I've done all the blocks for this quilt too, but making it such a large quilt, I was put off finishing it and adding all the other blocks of the original. I love the idea of just adding sashing... But I LOVE the bottom border with all the movable characters. What a BRILLIANT idea. I'm keen to get my blocks out now and find some matching fabric for sashing... thank you xx

ReplyDeleteOh, thanks for sharing, Melody! I love your quilt, especially what you've done at the bottom. Grandchildren! For some reason I thought you were in your 30's. You're not old enough for grandchildren, surely???
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Wonderful Melody. I was looking through my patterns yesterday and have this one (apart from the last block which I missed). I adore the extra scene you are creating along the bottom - your home is going to look especially festive come Christmas time :-)
