........I'm working on my cross stitch.
About ten years ago I was looking through an American decorating magazine and saw a photo of someone's home with an entire wall covered with antique cross stitch samplers. I was instantly in love with this look and decided to try to replicate it. The photo above shows my efforts so far.
As I wouldn't be able to find or afford antique samplers I needed to stitch my own. It has been a very slow process, as I am easily distracted by other projects, but I have decided to finish this one as I really like it.
Lou at Buttons by LouLou is having a little holiday from blogging for a couple of weeks so there is no Mr Linky for At my House this week.

That's a gorgeous sampler you're working on. Love your commitment to the wall. I had dreams of doing something like this too - but only managed two samplers.

ReplyDeletethese are fabulous Melody. Good on you for stitching them all yourself. You are creating family heirlooms for your little ones.
ReplyDeleteYour room looks amazing Melody - just like a magazine picture. You are so right that cross-stitch is very time consuming compared to other stitching projects and I always get distracted too - but the end results are always worth it :0)
ReplyDeleteWow, how beautiful - I agree with the others - I thought the wall shown was the magazine picture!! Well done. I love the one you are working on at the moment too!
ReplyDeleteYour stitching is beautiful. I love cross stitch samplers and have made several myself. Counted cross stitch is my second obsession - after quilting, of course.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Truly fantastic! I looooove this look my friend and what an incredible gift to give yourself. I believe the lady you are referring to is Pandora de Balthazar. Here is the link.
