Annual Quilt-In

Last Sunday, myself and seven friends from my sewing group took a trip out to Warburton to the Patchwork Tea House's Annual Quilt in.
The venue was the clubhouse of the beautiful Warburton Golf Club.  The setting is glorious and I took the time to grab a few minutes of solitude and stroll around the grounds.
Over 190 women quilters attended and the atmosphere was one of happiness and delight in sharing a day stitching.  There were beautiful threads and patterns to purchase and I got the chance to catch up with some old friends, I hadn't seen in a while, including Jenny whose work is always inspirational.
Marilyn is a great host.  Everything she does is so well thought out and brilliantly organised.  This year the guest speakers were Brenda Ryan of Brenda Ryan Designs and Pam Spurway of Cottage Garden Threads. I very much enjoyed what they had to say.  Both were interesting and informative.
I also very much enjoyed the afternoon tea prepared by the Golf Club Ladies' Committee.
Posted by PicasaIt was great fun to stroll around the tables having a look at what others were making,

and the Show and Tell was inspiring with many spectacular quilts including 'Nearly Insane' (in the middle) made by my friend Liz.

The Patchwork Tea House is one of my very favourite patchwork shops.  Marilyn and everyone who works there are delightful, the displays are beautiful, the choice of fabrics very much to my taste and the food in the tearooms is really delicious.
It is at 3305 Warburton Highway, Warburton, Victoria, Australia 3799.
