For the last week or so I've been sewing projects with a bird theme as part of Jenny of Elefantz and Wendy of Sugarlane Quilts Birdcage Sew In. I used Sarah Saliba's pattern from Homespun No 87 Vol 11 Number 8 for my birdies.
These cute little birds, on the teatowel, are an applique version of a fabulous free stitchery pattern I found at Bird Brain Designs. Go to the Patterns and Kits category and click on Free Designs. There are lots of really lovely free patterns they, very generously, share with us all.
I just adore this owl. I made this block as a gift but I plan to make the entire Hooterville quilt by Brandywine Designs very soon. If you want to find out where this block went have a look at A House in the Country and see what kind and caring Lizzie is doing for her friend Sue.
Aren't they darling!!! I think Jenny and Wendy have created a monster - birds are popping up everywhere, aren't they? I just love them all!
ReplyDeleteYour little birdcage is absolutely delightful, Melody, and I love that owl!
What beautiful bird watching. I love that blue owl block you donated. I just adore the fabrics your have used.
ReplyDeleteI love the birds, where can I get these patterns from?
