I sent my parcel in Cheryll's Santa Sack Swap to NSW with a courier service....the days went by and Michele had not received it. Luckily I'd sent it priority post so it had a tracking number...unluckily it turned up in Launceston and was delivered and somebody took it. AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!! And to compound the problem the courier's website is out of action this weekend due to maintenance work.
Not sure what will happen. I did insure it but you can't really replace handmade goods. I may just have to start madly stitching.
Michele however used good old Australia Post and my beautiful parcel arrived safe and sound. I opened parcel number 1 to reveal this really gorgeous bag and the other pressies are going under the Christmas tree. Thank you so much Michele.
Once upon a time, in another lifetime, I was an English teacher and I do love to encourage children to read. What could be better than this fabulous 'on the go reading pillow'. There is a great tutorial and pattern at Polka Dot Chair. Just follow this LINK. Thank you so much Melissa.
that is terrible, I do hope the person that took the parcel realises it was not for them and does the right thing and sends it on to the right address.
ReplyDeleteOh no devastating , so sorry to hear about your parcel, hopefully it will be returned.
ReplyDeleteThis is such terrible news. I am always nervous about posting unique things. The chances of getting them back are not good. Congratulations on your amazing view count. Your blog is always great to read. I noticed that quite a few views on my blog have come through your blog so thanks to you and your readers for visiting me too.
ReplyDeleteOh Mel No......maybe there is a verey honest person out there with your parcel who is waiting to get onto the delivery service, I do pray it turns up for you....your gift from Michele is just so lovely xx
ReplyDeleteOh no Mel, that's awful. It might still show up, fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteHow awful. I hope you can get something sorted. Lovely bag. Hugs, xx.
ReplyDeleteOh no!!!! What an awful thing to happen especially to homemade! I love the bag she made for you. Did you take pictures of what you made for her so you can "recreate" them? What a shame at Christmas time of all times.
ReplyDeleteI love the reading pillow. I might whip up some of those for the grands and then slip a book in. Did you see there's whole board on Pinterest for homemade gifts on her link? I'm following it now....thank you so much!
Fingers, toes, arms. legs... all crossed for your parcel Mel. JUST NOT FAIR! :(
ReplyDeleteI'm so sad at this point in time.
ReplyDeleteLets just hope that if the person doesn't return it that they get a lot of joy out of all the lovely hand stitched things you made me :(
There are still 16 days till Christmas so all is not lost yet.
Im glad you liked your initial present of the bag.
In the true spirit of Christmas it is all in the giving …… Im sending loving blessings to the person that signed for that parcel.
Michele (aka Mrs Claus)
Oh no Mel. That is just awful. How dishonest of the person to accept the parcel. It obviously had Michelle's name and address on it.
ReplyDeleteOh Mel that's awful,I hope the person that took it realise their mistake and send it on or back, you never know. Fingers crossed.xx
ReplyDeleteohh nooo hope they can sort it out,if you need help Mel just let me know and what a cute bag, hoping you hear good news my friend fingers crossed.xx
ReplyDeleteI have had this happen to me four times. But it has ALWAYS been through AustraliaPost. The problem is that they employ workers who can not read properly and are also dishonest. Low pay, low standards. Sometimes the parcels are delivered to people who can not read the name and address - a genuine error. I found it was registered mail that was treated the worst, because the delivery people know that these items are special. Ask outright for your parcel to be returned and then go to the Police and the Ombudsman. Make a really noisy fuss!!! Since I screamed blue murder there have been no more mistakes with my mail. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the realise the error. It makes you want to cry having made something special for someone special and it goes astray. Happened to me once too
ReplyDeleteOh Mel I hope it can be recovered. Knowing how much thought and love you put into your gifts I feel terrible for you. I shall keep my fingers crossed xxxx
ReplyDeleteOh what a shame , hopefully the parcel will be returned to the rightful owner . Good luck .
ReplyDeleteOh no!!!! I hope it gets returned where it is meant to be! Gees, that would make you feel rather sad I reckon. So much love, time and energy and then poof, gone! Angel hugs my lovely.
ReplyDeleteoh no! Poor Michele waiting and waiting! Bet you are madly trying to recreate the goodies that you had made....
ReplyDeleteLovely bag - bet you cant wait to open the rest......I have received from Michele and she does wonderful creations!
Oh no Mel. I so hope that it gets returned and in time for Christmas. hugs
ReplyDeleteHopefully first thing Monday morning the person who received the gift will be on the phone to the courier co - hopefully just an honest mistake. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I do hope the person who accidently received will send it back to you.. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteOh No, what a disaster! I encourage you to get on to the courier company as soon as you can... and perhaps hope that the parcel will come back to you sometime soon... what a shame this happened x
ReplyDeletewhat a pity about the parcel... hard to believe someone took a gift that wasn't marked for them!
ReplyDeleteHugz
