Laughter really is great medicine

I spent last Friday with my dear friend Sue and her fabulous daughter Steph.  Steph now lives in NSW and I hadn't seen her in a long time.  We had the BEST day.  I'm still on a high from laughing so much.  We toured around the local area, starting in lovely Warrandyte and shopping and window shopping in everywhere from an up market gallery to op shops. A trip to the Warrandyte Bakery meant we picnicked in a park, enjoying the glorious weather. And we laughed and laughed and laughed.
Do you remember this collage I showed you on my post about visiting Jam and Cream with fabulous Christine.
I fell in love with this gorgeous collage and told Sue about my desire to make one.  Look what she gave me to get me started.  I'm thrilled.  Thank you so much.

On our shopping spree I found this delightful piece of crochet in a Rosanna op shop. It, too, will be finding a new home in my collage.

This little hexie flower pin cushion is really charming and there is an extremely detailed and helpful tutorial on how to make it shared on Frayed at the Edge.  Just click HERE.  Many thanks to Anne.
PS Don't forget that tomorrow is Tuesday Treasures Day.  Of couse there will be a giveaway too.

  2. Love that collage. I have a couple of those crochet crinoline ladies worked in fine thread. I also have the pattern so maybe one day I'll have a go at making my own.

  3. Hello Melody,

You post title is so true. I remember these collection boxes being all the rage back in the 90's. Have fun collecting bits and bobs for it.

    Happy days.
    Bev.

  12. I will be really interested on how you attached the lovely pieces...glue or stitching? I had assumed glue, but then I looked at the darning mushrooms and thought the weight/gravity might be an issue if this was hanging on the wall? Anyway it looks lovely and the start of your collection is sweet...I bet you collect enough for more then one!
