Something serendipitous

My lovely blogging friend Rachael Daisy from Blue Mountain Daisy won the Best of Show prize
at the Sydney Quilt Show with her amazing quilt Whizz Bang.
I was thrilled to get an email from Rachael letting me know I played a little part in this quilt.  A number of years ago I went to a bloggers' get together in Ballarat, Crafty Hijinks, organized by amazing Jodi from Ric-Rac. Heaps of people took items they no longer wanted and they were shared for free...it was fabulous, I bought home a few items including a gorgeous piece of machine embroidery.
I showed it on my blog and Rachael commented that she really liked it.  So I sent it to her.
And wonderfully she included it in her prize winning quilt.  So somewhere out there is a fabulous person who made this awesome embroidery and through a convoluted process, in which I had a tiny little role, it appeared in Rachael's quilt.  Serendiptous really.
I would really love to find the person who took the embroidery to Crafty Hijinks so if you can help please let me know.  I'd love to let them know a piece of their work is in an award winning quilt.
Here are a couple more blocks of Whizz Bang
Love that little blue mountain daisy

And this is my favourite as it features lovely fabric which she sometimes uses to represent herself on her blog.

Please visit Rachael at Blue Mountain Daisy.  It is always a sheer delight.

Tonight I'll be stitching along with Cheryll from Gone Stitchin' and her lovely friends as part of Friday Night with Friends.

You can sign up HERE.  Thank you Cheryll for organising this fun event for us.

It is so much fun searching for links to amazing free projects to share with you. I must admit I do spend a lot of time seeking them out.  I do spend more time looking at projects than actually sewing them, but I do enjoy it immensely. When I came across the divine quilt I knew I had to share it with you.

I found it and the really interesting story behind it at wonderful Sweet Little Stitches.  Please follow this LINK to the brilliant detailed tutorial.
Pamela is an inspiration to me as she also suffers from a debilitating auto immune disease and yet does not let it define her.
Many thanks to Pamela for all she shares with us

Hope you have time for some stitching today

  5. WOW!!!! That is one super awesome amazing quilt! I can see why she won. So vibrant and I love how she has combined patchwork, machine embroidery and hand quilting. I had to laugh when I read that you spend more time looking at the things on the computer instead of stitching---don't we all! One link lead to another etc. I appreciate you spending your valuable time finding these websites and sharing them with us. Angel Hugs.
