One of the ways I battle MS is by trying to keep my brain active and challenged. I like to read books that are not necessarily an easy read for me. I have a dear friend with severe dyslexia and so I am interested in this condition. This lead me to Maryanne Wolf's Proust and The Squid: The story and Science of the Reading Brain. I am finding it incredibly interesting and highly recommend it to anyone with this very debilitating condition. Obviously if you have problems with text you might prefer the audio book version which is available at Audible.
Another joy at the moment is the podcast library from the 2016 Sydney Writers Festival. It is wonderful to get a deeper insight into the minds of some of the most wonderful writers. As their blurb says it is a celebration of literature, stories and ideas. Please go HERE to listen, I'm sure if you are enjoy reading they will bring much happiness into your day and lead you on the way to new books.
Listening to my absolute podcast favourites ( Annabel Crabb and Leigh Sales - Chat 10 Looks 3) talk at the event I discovered the book Community, Arthur Street Kitchen by Hetty McKinnon
This led me on to the blog Arthur Street Kitchen. Not only is it filled to the brim with delicious sounding salad recipes, it is so beautifully written. The blurbs before each recipe are sublime, captivating and transport me to into the life of an Aussie in New York. I cannot give it as much praise as it deserves, I have fallen in love with another blog...and found a kindred spirit who also loves brussel sprouts.
I will be back tomorrow with a stitching themed post but today we will have to be content with a stitching link.
Anyone who reads this blog knows I love cute things and I think this project is the ultimate example of cuteness. Designed and shared by lovely Natalie of Cinderberry Stitches you can find the pattern by following this LINK. Huge thanks to Natalie for sharing it with us.
Hope you have a wonderful day
Love
