Feeling a bit sad...

...because the latest results from the MIR on my brain show a significant increase in damage due to the demyelination taking place.  Having Multiple Sclerosis is not fun so I do feel lucky to have my wonderful family and friends to support me.  Enormous hugs to Christine, who is such a beautiful and special friend and gets me out of the house by driving me around. And my wonderful Facebook friend, Lorraine, whose husband and son both rode in the MS bike ride in my name. In fact there are so many of you who do kind things for me that I don't share publicly but please believe me it means a lot.
I find that if I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself the best thing to do is do something for someone else. So after getting the bad news yesterday I sewed two healing hearts for fellow Scquilters who are going through tough times...
...and I finally sewed this hexie centre for lovely Sharmayne from Country Fragrance.  If you would like to make one for her too please follow this LINK.
Finally, I made some pouch liners for orphaned animals.  I have so much admiration for the people who spend their lives rescuing and nurturing animals. There is something very special about people who love animals and I do feel they are my true kindred spirits.  I plan to start a new section on my blog listing animal charities that need sewing help, in case you want to help too.

I love English Paper Piecing and so was very happy to find a great tutorial at fabulous Sew Mama Sew.  Please follow this LINK.
This project was designed by Julie Zaichuk-Ryan from Button Button . She was the guest blogger who shared this beautiful design.  Many, many thanks to both Julie and Kristen and Beth.

Hope you have a wonderful day
Love

PS Please excuse my messy side bar, I'm in the process of a bit of rearranging.

  7. Sorry to hear you received bad news on your health. You have so many beautiful projects going and do such wonderful handwork I always forget that you struggle daily. I will pray for healing of your body that you may continue to enjoy the work of your hands. Now I need to ask what the animal on the right is? I know the left is a baby kangaroo but not any idea of the right. I should learn these things as my oldest daughter is going to marry an Aussie very soon. They are waiting for Australia to finish up the engagement visa work on that end so he can come back to the states so they can be married. So I need some learning...Feel better soon!

  11. Dearest Melody it sounds like you have had your fair share of disappointing results and although admittedly I would think you may have shed a tear or two, the attitude you have developed by putting in place a few positive strategies for dealing with the letdown is a acknowledgment of your courage and bravery.... hug

  12. Oh dear heart you are so right, when I'm feeling down I too like to do something for someone else - it really lifts you out of the dumps. You have such a giving and generous heart, it really hurts me to think of you suffering. You're in my thoughts and prayers, dear one.

  18. Dear Melody, I am so sorry you lost your friend and also about your bad news. It must be very frightening to not know from minute to minute how you're going to feel or what's going to happen next. I know when I first got sick with RA and then later going blind (but I didn't)...you feel like your body has betrayed you. But your positive attitude and strong will and the love and care from friends and family will get you through! You go girl!
