Loving Indigo - The World of Shigeko Asada

John and I took a trip to Ballan yesterday to attend the Ballan Festival and view the amazing Japanese quilts on show at Mill Rose Quilting.  It was a fundraiser for the Red Cross, a very worthy cause.  As with everything Sue organises, it was wonderful.
The quilts took our breath away...

and the stories behind each quilt were fascinating and touching too.

John had never seen sashiko and and fell in love with the look.  Lucky I love it too...so a sashiko quilt will definitely be on the cards in the future.
The exhibition heads on back to Japan tomorrow and I feel very lucky indeed to have seen it while it was visiting us.
If you are new to Sashiko there are three great tutorials HERE at Studio Aika.

Just click on the Sashiko Tutorials button.

Now here are some wonderful free Sashiko designs for you to stitch.

You can find them  HERE at Embroidery.com

It is great to be back
Have a wonderful day
Love

I too love sashiko. I made two sashiko embroidered bags many years ago and just the other day I was looking for the pattern to make another.
    Bless you!
