A grand day out

I had a wonderful day out with the Kilmore Racy Ladies most of whom are also Kilmore Quilters..  Everyone one was greeted with a lolly bag, small gift, water bottle and raffle ticket - a great start.  We set off with high spirits and spent the day exploring the patchwork shops in the Geelong area.
Here are some of my favourite places from the trip and what I purchased.

Jiddis Patch
at 192 Moorabool Street Geelong.

I'd not been to this shop before and it was wonderful.  There was a wide range of fabrics including plenty of moderns.  They also stock the exquisite Tilda fabrics, books and accessories.  Lots of delightful quilts on display too.

I was very happy with my purchases of some gorgeous wool felt, fun owl ribbon and darling little owl buttons.

170 Moorabool Street Geelong
A few doors up was the most amazing giftware shop.  Full of everything I covet, including the most amazing range of Moorcroft pottery and glorious Spode china.  I bought a few little secret gifties, which I can't show + a couple of little delights for me.  Even their gift wrapping was stylish and classy.

A Little Different
1/346 Packington Street Geelong
I've always adored this shop and it was wonderful to re-visit.

And it was as fabulous as ever, including the wonderful ladies who work there - so charming and helpful.

There are lots and lots of gorgeous quilts on display - I was in heaven...

and the fabrics they stock...yum.

I was thrilled with my purchases

especially the Natalie Ross Pattern - Going Bananas which I plan to make for little Henry.

Shop 5 152 Bellarine Highway Newcomb
This shop was new to me and it was fabulous too.

The fabric ranges were wonderful and it was especially good for reproductions and 30's fabrics.

There was enough cuteness to satisfy my tastes too.  Of course the hexies and other English paper piecing supplies were something I particularly enjoyed here and I bought Set 1 of Zoe's clever templates along with some fabric loveliness.

Zoe very kindly let me take and share a picture of her new quilt pattern which is very soon to be released - it is such a beautiful quilt.  Contact her if you would like further information.

My luck in raffles continued and I won this potato bag kit which came from Jiddis Patch - lucky lucky me.

So huge thanks to Maureen and Valda for organising such a fabulous day.  I had a wonderful time.  Thanks too to our lovely bus driver, Bill, who was so helpful and kind in helping me, my walking stick  and all my parcels up the steep bus steps.

Want to read more then head over to Annette's wonderful blog, Jindii's Cottage, as she was on the trip too.
