Teddy Bears Picnic

Sweet little Suzy is coming on the picnic today. I have to admit she has sat long forgotten high on the top of a bookcase.  But when I got her down, dusted her off and took a close look there were lots of things I'd forgotten about which I think made her kind of special.
She has very cute little bee bloomers,
and a great selection of wooden buttons on her jacket.
She is carrying a cute little painted pail,
and I do love her sweet little Woodcutters Daughter brooch.  This was made by Barb Smith who has gone on to be Theodora Cleave and is still making the most delicious wooden brooches and buttons.

Share a Bear or Dolly too.
It would be wonderful if you would bring a bear, or a dolly or a softie on the picnic too. To share in the fun just pop your details into Mr Linky.

Fabulous Free Patterns
What says happiness and the joy of being alive more than a sunflower. That happy little face reaching for the sky.  I've just planted some in my garden and thought I'd seek out some crafty sunflowers too.

Lovely Karen at the Painted Quilt has faced some very serious health problems this year and had to take a little break from her most generous First Friday Freebies - but she's back with a fabulous stitchery this month. Thank you so much and what a relief you feel well enough to sew again.

As some-one who can't crochet, I was very impressed with this Giant Sunflower doily over at Crochet Memories.  I think it is amazing.

I fell in love with this beautiful quilt block, very kindly shared over at Free Quilt Patterns.  It is designed by Arlene and Melissa at The Quilt Company Even if you are not a kitty-cat person, take a look at their site - what amazing designers.

This lovely pattern, Sunflower Delight is one for the cross-stitch enthusiasts.  Download the pattern,
designed by very talented Dayna Stedry Kilian over at Free Patterns.com

And last but not least a little sunflower pin-doll called Sunny Sue by Nancy Hall.  You can find this cute little pattern over at The Doll Makers Diary.

Another Giveaway
As well as my blogging anniversary giveaway, I'm having a Teddy Bears Picnic Give-a-Way too.  There's two ways to enter. Please join in the fun and bring along a bear, a dolly a softie or even a teddy themed quilt on the picnic for one entry.
Leave me a comment on this post and you will get an entry.
Do both and you will have two chances to win.  You could win a Teddy Bears Picnic Prize Pack including cute fabric, a special Teddy Bears Picnic scissor fob, a Teddy Bears Picnic needle-case and some other surprises too.
I'll announce the winner next Thursday so you have plenty of time to play along.

PS A couple of people asked in the One Flower Wednesday comments where I got my fabulous hexie template.  I bought it from lovely Jane's at Want It, Need It, Quilt on -line shop. One of the best $3.50 I've ever spent. Invaluable for hexie fussy cutting.

  7. Hi Melody. Suzy is quite sweet. I agree that there are a lot of delightful details on her. I especially love the fabric in her bloomers. Some of our dolls do get tucked away and forgotten. This is a nice way to rediscover them.
I didn't think I was going to make it today. I seem to be having some issues with wordpress allowing photo downloading. Hope it sorts out soon.
    Enjoy the sunshine!!
