Some of the members entered quilts in the recent Victorian Quilters Show Case.
Our raffle quilt "Encouraging, Creativity and Friendship", which was designed and quilted by Rhonda Coates and appliqued and pieced by members of Kilmore Quilters, won 1st prize in the Group Quilt section of the Quilt Showcase.
Wendy Blyth (our Vice President and Newsletter Editor) had two entries "Indigo in Motion" which won 1st Prize in the Traditional Two Person Amateur-Professional Section, the quilt was quilted by Rhonda Coates (our president) this quilt also won the Judges Award by Julie Adamson. She also entered her "Phebe" quilt in the Open Mixed Technique Two Person section where it also won first prize. This quilt was also quilted by Rhonda Coates.
Jude Liebman entered her quilt "Hand Painted Tiles De Morgan Persia 1890" in the Mainly Applique Amateur Section. She designed and quilted this quilt herself. Her quilt won 1st prize in her section and also won the Bernina Best Amateur Quilt Award and the Westalee Design Award for Best Original Design.
Congratulations also to Dallas Stead, Jenny Gibson and Rhonda Coates for having their quilts accepted as entries into the Showcase. No wonder I feel inspired every time I attend a meeting.
