Tuesday Treasures - Cottages

I have a few interesting teapots and I thought I'd share one today for Tuesday Treasures.  I bought a box of assorted china at Youngs' Auctions in Camberwell  a few years ago for just a couple of dollars.  Right at the bottom of the box was this cottage teapot, which appears to be an ale house.  It sits on the top of a plate rack in my family room with a few other bits and pieces. I've always loved the excitement of auctions and have been going to Youngs, every now and again, for over 40 years.  I always thoroughly enjoy myself and it doesn't hurt that Trampoline Ice Cream is just around the corner.

Quite a few years ago I did a course in ceramics, and this little cottage jug was one of the first things I made.  It's pretty amateurish but I still think its quite sweet.

And this little Lilliput Lane cottage was a gift from my parents brought back from one of their overseas trips.  I meant to start a little collection but never did.  There are quite a few lovely cottage pin cushion and tea cosy patterns out there. I must make a couple and start a proper cottage collection.

There's a really cute free pattern HERE at Little House by the Sea.
Do you have a treasure you'd like to share with us?  It can be a thing, a person, a pet, a place or simply an idea or feeling.  Just pop your details into Mr Linky and share your treasure today.

  1. Your teapot and jug, etc are beautiful. There is a coffee shop I occasionally go to which has hundreds of them - always neat to look at them while I sup my coffee. Love the cute little mushrooms - may just have to visit the link. have a good day!!

  9. I love your teapot Melody and you did a lovely job on your little cottage jug. What could be better an icecream shop around the corner from a place where you can bid on china. The little felt toadstool houses are so cute.

Oh My! I love teapots! I kind of have an addiction to tea houses and I think half the appeal are all those beautiful tea pots. My grandmother used to have a collection I used to play with as a little girl..I have always wondered where they went after she passed :( You just dont see them around anymore, do you?!
