A bit of sewing including a block for Kaaren

I got the chance to do some sewing on Sunday so I made Block 7 of Out of the Box. I really enjoy this BOM from Dawn and Vicki.  It's quick and easy to sew and gives me the chance to use some of my button collection.  Many thanks to you both.

I was so sad to hear that lovely Kaaren at The Painted Quilt is facing a major health crisis.  Her beautiful blog was one of the first I found when I started exploring blog land and she is such a kind and generous person.

Wonderful Allie at allie-oops sweet happy life  is organising a quilt for Kaaren.  This is the simple little block she requested.  If you'd like to contribute a block too, please pop over and visit Allie and find out more.
 
The other items in the picture are two felt brooches and a kitty needle case for the Kilmore Quilters Sale table.

    What cute blocks and little 'gifties'!
    You will LOVE that magazine - I think I read every word and then some of that particular issue and have Loved the dvd that came with it...but then I'm still new in the land of quilting so all of the projects in it were newies to my eyes, lol. Congratulations on the win!

    Your block is so lovely - and I love all the buttons etc you have found to use... and the block you have done for Kaaren is great.... it will be such a wonderful quilt.... super win... nothing like browsing through a good magazine....

    Both blocks are lovely Melody .I am also hoping for a speedy recovery for our friend Kaaren .You have the cutest patterns for needlecases , that one is adorable.
