Tuesday Treasures

Today's Treasures are the cheeky cockatoos who wake me up each morning screeching for their breakfast.  We don't need an alarm clock because they are very persistent if we don't respond to their call.
There is a small deck outside our bedroom and that's where the bird feeder is located.
If I'm not well and stuck in bed it's fabulous to lie and watch the antics of all my avian friends. Cockatoos, rainbow lorrikeets, galahs, corellas, wattle birds, currawongs and beautiful ravens visit everyday.
What do you treasure in your surroundings?  It can be an object, a person or an idea.  Anything you want really.  Please share your treasure with us by filling in Mr Linky

  3. Hi Mel,
    I love your treasure today.
I have birds too outside that wake me at dawn each morning but mine aren't as noisy as yours :-)
    Have a fabulous week.

  4. How lovely. I really miss the Cockies. We used to have so many of them in Hurstbridge along with all the other birds you mentioned and beautiful King Parrots. When visiting my daughter in Mt Evelyn I can hear them all around, up in the trees. I love the Wattle-Birds too, noisy but very melodic.

  5. I love birds... There aren´t so much in my town...
But in spring we have a thousands of little sparrows.
Everybody hate their "Talk" in the morning, but I love it...

  6. Hello Melody,

We have swarms and swarms of the pink and greys and the white correllas going over town. They have been our alarm for the past couple of weeks too. When we go for our walk we seem them on one of the ovals just about covering it.
    Happy days.

  7. I love your treasure today. All Aust native birds are true treasures. We have lots of parrots, magpies and kookaburras visiting my garden. Their singing really brighten up your day.

  8. Hi Melody,
We can sit for hours on our deck watching the birds. There are lots of cockatoos where we live, even the amazing black ones. It sounds strange but lately a pigeon with zebra stripe markings has been visiting our backyard.

  9. Oh gosh how gorgeous!!! We used to get them here all the time too even with the cats! Then the next door neighbours dog started chasing them and they haven't come back. I'm hoping they will this winter when food isn't as plentiful. We get countless magpies, butcherbirds, crows, kookaburras, currawongs, noisy minors and blue faced honey-eaters though! And crested pigeons, and turtle doves.

  11. Hi Mel, we live with a galah so I know how noisy they can be when they get a bee in their bonnet but they are such characters - she makes me laugh lots, especially when Elvis 'Devil in Disguise' comes on, it's her favourite one to bop along to!

    Great Tuesday Treasure :0)
