The Crocus rose is one of my all time favourites. I have it growing at the side of the steps up to my house and cannot resist stopping and smelling its sweet blooms as I pass.
This is what the site David Austin Roses has to say about this beautiful rose.
This is a very robust and free flowering rose, bearing large, rosette-shaped flowers that are cupped at first; the petals later reflexing. The colour is soft apricot, paling to cream on the outer petals. The flowers are produced very freely, in large clusters elegantly poised on the end of slightly arching stems. They have a delightful Tea Rose fragrance. Time of Roses
It was not in the Winter
Our loving lot was cast;
It was the time of roses—
We pluck'd them as we pass'd!
That churlish season never frown'd
On early lovers yet:
O no—the world was newly crown'd
With flowers when first we met!
'Twas twilight, and I bade you go,
But still you held me fast;
It was the time of roses—
We pluck'd them as we pass'd!
Our loving lot was cast;
It was the time of roses—
We pluck'd them as we pass'd!
That churlish season never frown'd
On early lovers yet:
O no—the world was newly crown'd
With flowers when first we met!
'Twas twilight, and I bade you go,
But still you held me fast;
It was the time of roses—
We pluck'd them as we pass'd!

That rose is just perfect. I love the form and colour. David Austin roses are pretty hard to beat. Thanks for sharing that lovely poem too. Mind you if they had 'pluck'd them' from my garden I would have been after them with a shovel! hehe.
