I am so happy to be able to report that Joy is back in my life, re-stitched and ironed without all the horrid gluey residue this time.
I sent up to
Threadbear this week and bought the pattern for Confetti by Irene Blanck so I guess I'll be showing you lots more hexie flowers in the coming year.
I plan to make it mostly in Park Lane by 3 Sisters. My DH is giving me this range for Christmas. I know this because I bought it, I wrapped it and I gave it to him to hide in his shed. I have quite a few other presents that have followed the same procedure throughout the year. This works so well as my DH hates shopping and never knows what to buy me. Half the time I forget what I've bought so it is still a surprise and I never sneak in and look at my pressies because HUGE spiders live in the shed.
So lots more hexagons for me. Luckily I love making them. So do lots of other people and you can check out their flowers thanks to delightful Karen at
Journey of a Quilter.
What a great idea to get from hubby for Christmas.... I just might do the same thing.....
ReplyDeleteLovely hexi - I love those darker colours

What a wonderful thing to look forward to. I can hardly wait to see that quilt finished in the beautiful park avenue fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThat is going to be a really wonderful quilt! A lot of work, but will be worth it.
ReplyDeleteAgain a lovely flower. I read your post outloud to my husband and we both had a good laugh. It goes the same overhere. Only he hides them under the bed (lol).
ReplyDeletethat is a lovely hexie pattern. I am busy making Park Avenue hexies at the moment too. I bought a jelly roll a month ago and am loving this range too. Will look forward to seeing your flowers bloom.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! I loved the story about the Xmas present...it reminds me of another person I know quite well ;-) who has the same strategy (but no shed with spiders)
ReplyDeleteYour quilt will be wonderful in this range of colours - look forward to see more.
The flower is stunning. I am not a brown lover but with the blue and lighter colours it looks great. Might have to change my mind about brown ;-) I haven't been here for a while and had a lot to read and saw some wonderful projects you are working on.

ReplyDeleteHi Melody,
ReplyDeleteOh what joy to have this lovely Hexieflower done, so pretty.
That is such a good idea, picking your present and wrapping it for your husband to give you for Christmas.
Happy Thursday

Beautiful flower...love those colors and the swirling design. And JOY, an added bonus!
ReplyDeleteI love your flowers and the small stitchery inside. And I really am sorry I waited too long for the swap :-(.
ReplyDeleteI laughed so much when I read about your DH's presents. I do the same! Though I don't put them in his man cave, they'd get swallowed up. I just keep them safe and then put them under tree.
