Tuesday Treasure
This is Big Teddy. He is over 50 years old. When I was a little girl I lived in England. In the window of a baby-wear shop in the village, a beautiful bear modeled baby clothes. I fell in love with him and every time my mother and I passed the window I would stop and blow him a kiss.
One day, shortly before my third birthday, I was playing in the garden when my dad arrived home from work. He was carrying a big parcel wrapped in brown paper. "Is that Big Teddy?", I gasped with excitement. And it was, my dad had persuaded the shop owner to sell the beloved bear, and he was my third birthday present.
I knitted the cardigan for my son Sam when he was little. Sam is now 23.
