I started with the stitching defining each quarter of the quilt on a black wool background. I soon realized that stitching on this large heavy piece of wool was going to be very difficult. S0 I abandoned this project and went on to work on my Di Ford Hall Quilts.
A couple of weeks ago I took a trip to gorgeous Bustles and Bows in Warrandyte and there I found a new background...150cm wide...a gorgeous beige/taupe check and only $25 a metre. My enthusiasm is back again and so on Saturday I started stitching again, from the beginning.
It is going to be 38 (just over 100 degrees fahrenheit) today in Melbourne...far too hot to go out with my MS so I'll be staying in and working on some flowers.
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love cake...and donuts too. So when I saw these adorable donut potholders I felt I had to share the LINK.
It is shared on Craftsy, where there are so many fabulous free patterns.
Hope you enjoy the happiest of days,
Love
I do like your new background Mel... your Around the Garden will look beautiful on it.. enjoy.

ReplyDeleteThat is such a fabulous quilt - certainly easier on fabric though. I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops.
ReplyDeleteYour tree centre is lovely Mel! I love the background you have chosen too- I think the subtlety of it will be a great foil to the felt pieces!
ReplyDeleteGosh that is a beautiful pattern!! I hope you will show progress as you work.
