Linda is a very inspiring woman who puts on this amazing exhibition every year to raise money for breast cancer research. Enormous thanks to Linda, and her team of helpers, for sharing her love of quilts with us all and for raising money for this very important cause.
The day would not be complete without morning tea either. And my piece of Lumberjack Cake was delicious.
Again the weather was gorgeous so we could enjoy our cake and a cuppa in the garden. Here are me, Christine and Ann. In the background you can catch a glimpse of Sigrid and Christine, two of my lovely friends from the Friday afternoon Sewn and Quilted group. We also ran into Sue and Liz from Millrose Quilting and Gallery. Lucky ducks - they both bought antique quilts on the day.
Here are some more of the delights on show.
Dear Jane was one of the themes and we were lucky enough to meet Brenda Papadakis who wrote the Dear Jane book.
I must say I was particularly in love with this quilt of dresden plates with old doilies for the centres - totally charming.
so I found this charming snowman HERE at Free Dearie Dolls Digi Stamps. Enormous thanks to Mary Ellen.
Hope you find time for some stitching today.
Love

ReplyDeleteThe quilts are absolutely gorgeous and what a wonderful event and day. I would love a day out like that. I loved the dresden idea of the doilies too. The Dear Jane book sounds like something to put on my wish list if only to read. Those quilts look way beyond my skill level but they are certainly beautiful. Thank you for the cute embroidery pattern!
