Just too hot
to do anything, even sew. Melbourne is in the grip of a heatwave so I have been sitting quietly, reading a novel and listening to the emergency bushfire warnings - I have many friends who live in very heavily treed areas prone to bushfires and where I live is very close to bushland and grasslands so I never feel completely safe on these high fire danger days.
I thought you might enjoy the list of quilt sayings at The Stitching Cow, so here is a LINK. If you carefully read the list you'll find a link to a lovely stitchery pattern.
Many thanks to Lena.
Keep cool

ReplyDeleteHi Melody
ReplyDeleteIt is very hot and too hot to do anything much at all. I have sent you a couple of text messages on your mobile phone and with you not replying I am thinking its the wrong number you gave me when you registered for The Lets Get Stitched weekend. Can you let me know what your phone number is again...I lost that bit of paper from the Christmas Gathering :) Thanks heaps Vicki xx
Keep safe Mel. I hope the fires are brought under control soon as the reports on the news are pretty grim. Will keep you in my thoughts. Hugs.......
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself...
ReplyDeleteSame here Mel, just taking it easy and reading.
ReplyDeleteIt is very Hot Mel, you have the right idea, stay cool :-)
ReplyDeleteTake care Mel. I hope it is cooler tomorrow for you. I think reading and resting in the cool is the best thing for her.
ReplyDeleteStay cool and more importantly, stay safe. We moved from a high bushfire area so I well know that nervous feeling.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely staying cool. I have been worried about my ozzie friends with the fire warnings. Stay safe
ReplyDeleteI hope it all eases off soon Melody.....definitely don't need a repeat of those devastating fires from a couple of years ago.

Sounds like it is cooling down for you at last... Hope everyone stays safe from fires ...

It's been horrible, hasn't it. And it's only half way through January, so I'm thinking we haven't seen the last of it. A friend of mine lives in Research and told me she has to evacuate last week. I said WHAT?? and she explained that her house is between Kangaroo Ground and Warrandyte, and if the wind was strong enough it would have sent the KG fires into Research, hence the evacuation warning. Geeezz, that's getting too close to us for comfort...
ReplyDeleteStay and wishing you some of our rain from North Queensland.
