I now know I have Adhesive capsulitis of the shoulder. It may hurt but luckily there are no tumours, nothing deadly. Apparently it is something people with autoimmune diseases sometimes get. Thank goodness it is my left shoulder so I can still sew.
And that's exactly what I did on Friday night as part of lovely Cheryll's Friday Night with Friends. I completed this little wedding gift holder (we are giving money so there is a pocket on the back). Such a cute design by Julie Lovell and featured in Homespun No. 100.
I'm also finishing off my St Patricks Day mini quilt in a swap organised by Cheryll. It feels so good to be running a little ahead with my swaps. Just a sneaky peak today.
I've always had plans to make a photo quilt and so I was very happy to find a very helpful tutorial at Polka Dot Chair. Here's the LINK. Many thanks to Melissa.
I am glad your shoulder is nothing serious, but i am sure, still painful. I have bursitis in one of mine, but it has been doing good the last few years, so maybe the cats claw is curing that too, lol. Love the money holder, beautiful piece and a nicer idea than buying a card holder.

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your shoulder, but the good news really is good news.
That's no good Melody, but at least you have a positive attitude. I am so glad you can still sew......we would all be lost without that.
ReplyDeleteGood to know, even though painful, that your shoulder is not too much to worry about. I hope you can find some pain relief soon. I love the first little stitchery there. So Sweet!

ReplyDeleteGood news in regards to your shoulder that there isn't anything nasty lurking in there. At least you can still enjoy some stitching. Your tute link a few weeks ago might come in handy for you too and I am seriously considering making two for my parents. Love your sneak of the mini quilt and the stitchery has come up beautifully too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful wedding gift.

Hello Melody,
ReplyDeleteGlad you got a reasonable diagnosis and that it is in the other arm to your sewing one. The wedding stitchery is lovely and will be treasured by the couple long after they have spent the money.
Happy days.

The wedding gift pocket is such a pretty idea. I think money is a good gift these days. Sorry that there is something wrong with your shoulder. As you say, at least it is not life threatening.
ReplyDeleteOK so I don't know if any of my previous attempts have actually made it through, blogger is giving me such a hard time tonight! Having a final attempt...
ReplyDeleteSorry that your shoulder is playing up, hope it starts to resolve sooner rather than later...glad that you can still sew. The sweet gift holder is so lovely, much nicer than a paper card.
Sympathy for the frozen shoulder Mel. I have had it in m right shoulder for over 4 months now...slowly, ever so slowly it is improving! Your sewing is still beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your health news is relatively good. Your still able to sew all the beautiful things you do. I especially love your little wedding stitchery. Have fun at the wedding when you go. Hugs.....
ReplyDeleteI am happy for you that you can still sew, it would be terrible not to do this when it gives you so much pleasure. You always share such beautiful work, gorgeous stitchery.
ReplyDeleteThat wedding card is just perfect isn't it. I must remember that when attending our next wedding. Thanks for sharing Mel... :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Melody & love the birdy ornament too. xx
ReplyDeleteYour gift holder is just gorgeous Mel. Lucky you are still able to stitch. I hope the wedding went well. It was certainly a beautiful day for it.
ReplyDeleteHey Melody, I'm glad your shoulder is still letting you sew. I hope it feels better soon. Cute little stitchery and whoever is getting your St.Patty's day swap will be happy, happy, happy, I can tell. :)
ReplyDeleteI have had frozen shoulder twice, left then 18 months later the right. I found that Deep Tissue Massage gave me much better results than Physio (and cheaper). I know everyone is different but it it is worth considering. I also had an injection both times, the first DR hurt like h---l the second was virtually pain free.
ReplyDeleteso sorry to hear that, I do hope it gets better soon. Beautiful stitching and such a special idea
