I am always in heaven when John and I find somewhere else close to home with delicious food. We hit the jackpot with Carome Homestead and Two Beans and a Farm. We enjoyed two absolutely delicious cakes (sticky date and orange) and coffee there on Sunday afternoon, after strolling around the property.
I was so taken with this place with its sustainable philosophy and community spirit.
I loved the community gardens and was fascinated by the history. The staff were delightful - friendly and fun. And they have Devonshire Teas on Monday - I'll need to enlist the help of lovely Christine - so we can report back.
It is at 10 Hathfelde Boulevard, Mernda, and open 7 days a week. Phone 9717 0978.
Speaking of lovely Christine, she is taking part in the Stitch Me Up Embroidery Blog Hop
and today is her day. Don't forget to visit her at her delightful blog, MacDonald's Patch and see her super stitching.
Some of the first quilting fabric I purchased was designed by Debbie Mumm. I've always loved her style. She shares a multitude of free patterns and I think this years six month BOM is one of my favourites.Go here to here to Debbiemumm.com and click on Favourite Themes Sampler Quilt.
Isn't it such a lovely place! When I went I went savoury and had the Morrocan Tart. It was lovely.
